Welcome back to 2026.
All children have settled back into school well and teachers are pleased with how Nikau children are giving some new sports a go (cricket, softball and soon to be Rippa Rugby) as well as having a 'give it a try' attitude in class.
For the last 2-3 weeks we have had a focus on Growth Mindset, and it is beginning to show in how they are taking small risks with their learning.
Swimming has started - it has been great to see the majority of children coming prepared for swimming lessons.
Thank you to parents who are providing letters or medical certificates for those too unwell at the moment.
As part of our topic of 'Culture and Identity', all children in Nikau are working on their self-portrait using different media.
These should be complete by the end of next week - feel free to drop in before or after school to check them out!
